Andrew Armatas, M.A., D.C.H., MISCPaccred
Andrew Armatas was born in Sydney, Australia. He studied psychology and received his Master’s degree from the University of Hartford (U.S). He furthered his studies at the University of Sheffield (U.K) where he received a second post-graduate degree in the applications of hypnosis (an asset he brings to his professional workshops and to his services aiming at change and development).
He is one of the first professionals in the country to incorporate positive psychology principles in his work with organizations and individuals. He has years of experience in EAP work (employee assistance programmes) and has liased with international EAP companies to provide coaching, counselling and training services to client-companies.
He co-developed and headed one of the first EAP companies in Greece and was one of the first psychologists to apply a goal-oriented, stress management group coaching service for working women through EQUAL, an EU co-funded programme. He currently heads a group of psychologists continuing this programme.
He acts as a principal advisor to one of the largest publishing companies on psychology/coaching publications and serves as an advisor to the National Network of Workplace Health Promotion and the National Institute of Social & Preventive Medicine.
He lectured at the Department of Continuing and Professional Studies, at the American College of Greece, between 2003-2008 and has been in private consultancy in Athens since 2000. He has experience in a variety of cultural settings: the U.S, the U.K and Australia.
He presents workshops and papers nationally and internationally and holds memberships to professional bodies including the International Society of Coaching Psychology, the International Positive Psychology Association, the European Network of Positive Psychologists, the International Society of Hypnosis and British Society of Clinical & Academic Hypnosis.
